Gorangutang is the collaboration between multi-instrumentalists Tra’zae Lewis Clinton and William Thoren, grounded in funk and blending it with hip-hop and beyond. With Tra’zae on vocals and keys and William on didgeridoo and mandolin, the duo creates a raw blend of old genres and future sounds.

The two met while touring with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic—William as the band’s touring photographer and Tra’zae as a drum tech and feature MC. What started as backstage jams with spontaneous freestyles quickly turned into songwriting, recording on the road, and opening shows for P-Funk.
