The closest airport is Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) — just 10 minutes from the festival grounds.
Because Tallahassee is a smaller airport, travelers may also find more flight options and lower fares by flying into nearby airports and driving.

There is no direct train service to Tallahassee, but you can combine Amtrak or Brightline with a short bus ride to get here. The closest Amtrak connection hub is Jacksonville Union Station — about 3 hours from Tallahassee by Greyhound or FlixBus.
Option 1 — Brightline + Bus (Recommended)
Take Brightline from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, or West Palm Beach to Orlando (~3 hrs 30 min). From Orlando, hop on a FlixBus or Greyhound directly to Tallahassee (~3.5 hrs). Total trip from Miami: roughly 7–8 hours in comfort.

Option 2 — Amtrak Silver Meteor to Jacksonville + Bus
Board the Silver Meteor in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or Orlando and ride to Jacksonville, then take a Greyhound or FlixBus the final 3 hours to Tallahassee.

Unfortunately there is no Amtrak service along the Gulf Coast corridor into Tallahassee. The closest western Amtrak option is the Sunset Limited, which runs from Los Angeles to New Orleans — but goes no further east by rail. From New Orleans, your best bet is Greyhound or FlixBus through Mobile, AL directly into Tallahassee (~8–9 hrs total). See the Bus section above for details.
* All Amtrak and Brightline routes connect to Tallahassee via Jacksonville or Orlando. From those hubs, grab a Greyhound or FlixBus for the final leg — both stop at the CK Steele Bus Plaza, 111 W. Tennessee St., about 10 minutes from Phipps Farm.
Rental cars are available at all three airports. Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft operate throughout Tallahassee. There is a designated Rideshare Drop off Pickup location at the festival at 4300 N. Meridian Road, Tallahassee, FL.
We encourage festival goers to carpool. It's a great way to save money on gas and parking while also meeting other cool PFunk Festival attendees with Crewz.co.
Carpool SignupTallahassee sits just 20–55 miles north of the Gulf Coast, making it one of the only music festivals in the country you can arrive at by boat. Dock along Florida's beautiful "Forgotten Coast," then rideshare to Phipps Farm. Here are the best marinas to use as your home base.
Shields Marina — St. Marks, FL CLOSEST TO FESTIVAL
📍 St. Marks, FL | ~20 miles / ~25 min to Phipps Farm
The closest docking option to the festival. Shields Marina is a well-regarded, family-run operation right on the St. Marks River with covered wet slips, located directly on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. Uber and Lyft are available from St. Marks.
C-Quarters Marina — Carrabelle, FL
📍 Carrabelle, FL | ~55 miles / ~1 hr 15 min to Phipps Farm
Ideally positioned at the eastern end of the Florida Panhandle — a natural stop for cruisers coming from either direction across the Gulf or around the Big Bend. Full-service with 67 transient slips, diesel & non-ethanol fuel, WiFi, showers, laundry, and pumpout.

The Moorings of Carrabelle — Carrabelle, FL
📍 Carrabelle, FL | ~55 miles / ~1 hr 15 min to Phipps Farm
The largest marina in Carrabelle. A great option if you want to stay overnight near your boat before or after the festival — hotel rooms include a complimentary boat slip. Full-service with non-ethanol gas, marine diesel, and an on-site tackle shop.
Uber and Lyft operate in the Tallahassee area and will pick up from St. Marks. For Carrabelle, rideshare availability is limited — we strongly recommend pre-booking a car service from Tallahassee in advance. There is a designated Rideshare Drop-off & Pickup at 4300 N. Meridian Road at the festival.
* Arriving by boat makes you a P-Funk legend before you even walk through the gates. The Forgotten Coast is one of Florida's most stunning and unspoiled stretches of water — consider making a full weekend trip out of it.
Getting to the P-Funk Festival from outer space is, in many ways, considerably easier than getting there from New Jersey. The recommended mode of transport is a flying saucer. Though it should be noted that the Sirius Cybercorp's latest model, the Stardrive 9000, has a tendency to overshoot Tallahassee entirely and end up in a Waffle House parking lot outside Valdosta, Georgia, which, while not entirely unpleasant, is not the festival.
| Origin | Mode of Transport | Distance | Est. Travel Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outer Space | Flying Saucer (Stardrive 9000 or equivalent) | 8.6 light years | Instantaneous, if you remember to engage the Infinite Improbability Drive |
| Betelgeuse | Flying Saucer | 700 light years | Approximately three Parliament albums, back to back, at the wrong speed. You will arrive funkier for it. |
| Magrathea | Flying Saucer | 1,500 light years | Allow extra time. |
* Please note: The festival accepts no responsibility for crop circles, spontaneous enlightenment, or the sudden and inexplicable urge to FREE YOUR MIND. 👽
